Lawrence Fung: Kapsule

FOUND:RE Contemporary Announces New Exhibit Featuring the Works of Film, Photography and Dance Artist Lawrence Fung.

FOUND:RE Contemporary is pleased to debut its latest artist’s showcase debuting on Saturday, October 17 from noon to 9:00 p.m. The solo exhibition features the works of film, photography and dance artist Lawrence Fung, a multi-hyphenate choreographer raised in the concrete jungle of Hong Kong and the American Southwest. Through his solo show, Fung invites viewers to an encapsulating story-telling experience inspired by the intersections of various art forms, philosophical concepts, and his unique worldview through the lens of photography and film.

Titled Kapsule, the collection of works in the exhibition investigates the relationship between environmental psychology and movement and strategically selects distinctive places — such as the winter streets of Toronto, the white sand and southwestern wonders of New Mexico, and the glaciers and waterfalls of Iceland — to depict specific timelines in one’s lifetime including childhood, past, present, future, and afterlife.

Date: Saturday, October 17-Sunday, November 15
Time: Opening day: noon to 9:00 p.m.; regular gallery hours: Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
