PRESS: FOUND:RE Hotel Phoenix, 1100 North Central Avenue, is proud to announce the opening of “Portraits & Icons,” a survey of figurative art that celebrates the style and accomplishments of everyday people as well as the generations of cultural icons that have inspired us all. The exhibition, showcasing nearly one hundred works throughout the entire hotel in a wide variety of artistic mediums, will open October 1 and run through mid-February 2021.
“Portraits & Icons” celebrates the human spirit and the stories that representational imagery can tell. The diverse selection of works included in this exhibition, as well as the inspiration and skill behind each and every piece in this survey, were chosen from among the very best artists working in Arizona today.
ARTISTS: Kara Brooks, Matt Dickson, David Dauncey, Tal Dvir, Peter Farago, Fausto Fernandez, Jerome Fleming, Rigo Flores, Brian Goddard, Frank Gonzales, Lisa Von Hoffner, Maggie Keane, Harold Lohner, Qing Ma, Kris Manzanares, Iris Ortega, Joanna Proffitt, Gustavo Ramos, Chris Saper, Neil Schwartz, George Strasburger, Marilyn Szabo, Lucretia Torva, Chris Vena, Darrin Armijo-Wardle, Annie Waters, and Abe Zucca.
Patrons are invited to return to see the show in the months ahead at their leisure as new solo exhibitions will be debuted in the FOUND:RE Contemporary Gallery on Portland St. The first solo show opens October 17 and will feature the photography of Lawrence Fung. The opening coincides with the grand opening weekend of the new Match Market & Bar and will run for one month.
